6 Days Marangu Route - Kilimanjaro Hiking Adventure
Day 1: Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut
Altitude gain: 6,046 ft to 8,858 ft | Hiking time: 4-5 hours, 5 miles
Begin your journey at Marangu Gate with a hike through the lush montane forest. Look out for diverse wildlife as you ascend to Mandara Hut, where you can explore the nearby Maundi Crater or relax.

Day 2: Mandara Hut to Horombo Hut
Elevation gain: 8,858 ft to 12,205 ft | Hiking time: 6-8 hours, 7 miles
Transition from the forest into the heathland and moorland zones. Marvel at the views of Mawenzi and Kibo as you approach Horombo Hut for your overnight stay.

Day 3: Acclimatization at Horombo Hut
Elevation gain: 12,205 ft to 14,400 ft | Hiking time: 2-3 hours, 3 miles
Spend the day acclimatizing with a trek to Zebra Rocks and the base of Mawenzi Peak. Return to Horombo Hut to rest and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 4: Horombo Hut to Kibo Hut

Day 5: Kibo Hut to Uhuru Peak to Horombo Hut

Summit Uhuru Peak during the early morning hours, then descend to Kibo Hut for a rest before continuing to Horombo Hut for the night.
